Customer Review: Worst money I ever spent…
I should have read the reviews. This video is the equivalent of trying to cram 4 years of higher education into 58 minutes. The “Reader” (instructor) blows through topics so quickly that you’re still mentally on the first topic when the end credits are rolling. Only the Micro-Machine commercial guy could have blown through this faster. It should be illegal to sell something this bad.

If you’re trying to take a short cut to your captain’s license, don’t do it. Sign up for a REAL USCG class. They’re expensive, but only about 10 times the cost of this over-priced steaming pile. I wouldn’t even check this out for free from the local library. I have wasted 58 minutes of my life. Is there a rating less than one star?

Carry on Camping Customer Review: Classic Carry On
Carry On Camping was considered by many critics to be one of the pinnacles of the entire series. It also proved to be one of the most financially successful in the series and I think it’s fair to say that when people think of the Carry On films, Camping always springs to mind.

There was never much of a strong backbone of a plot in a carry On film as the case with this entry but yet it still surprisingly emerges as a fine blend of comedy that often careers along like an extended sitcom but still remains thoroughly amusing in a good, clean, old-fashioned way.

Sid (Sid James) and Bernie (Bernard Bresslaw) decide to take their two irresponsive girlfriends (Joan Sims and Dilys Laye) to the Paradise Camp site which lay in the heart of the country. Sid and Bernie actually believe, through a comic misunderstanding, that the camp site is for nudists but to their shock they discover that it’s just a plain old camping site in the middle of a field, run by the stingey Mr. Fiddler (a fantastic comic turn from Peter Butterworth).

Also joining in the fun at the Paradise Camp site is the Chayste School for young ladies (star pupil – Barbara Windosr) run by the domineering Kenneth Williams and stern, no-nonsense Hattie jaques. Frustated business man Peter (Terry Scott) stays at the site als with his ghastly, nagging wife (Betty Marsden) who causes much amusement with her hideous, horse-like laugh. Tagging along for the fun and adventures is Mr. Muggins (Charles Hawtrey) who joins the reluctant Peter and his welcoming wife, Harriet.

One of the most famous scenes in a Carry On film happened in this one where Barbara Windsors bikini top flys off during her morning exercises. Still hard to keep a straight face even after seeing this film at least one hundred times!

The cast are all fine form with Sid James and Barbara Windosr enjoying some good scenes together in this one where the chemistry between the two is so blatantly obvious whilst Kenneth Williams and Hattie Jaques make a superb comic duo in this one. Charles Hawtrey is funny, once again for his overly effeminate manner where as Joan Sims is disappointingly reduced to a supporting role in this one but still plays the part effeciently. Terry Scott and Betty Marsden prove to make another great comic duo but stealing every scene he’s in is Peter Butterworth as the camp site owner, Mr. Fiddler – a fitting name as he trys his best always to screw as much money as he possibly can out of his customers. Great stuff!

Carry On Camping is indeed one of the highpoints of the series – a fact reflected in it’ huge success at the Box Office. A Classic!

There’ s a big difference between these three concepts: duty, passion and bliss. Usually a great majority tends to overlap the first concept over the other two and that reveals an absolute clumsiness. The duty itself is bounded with all kind of unpleasant activity.

But if you examine briefly the Greek concept of the term amateur you will surprise: Amateur is that person who loves what does. So the little difference between passion and bliss is in the involvement or commitment level you decide add to your activity.

In this sense Luzhin defense deals about this last term: to follow your bliss, no matter how high be the prize you pay for reaching that goal . This inner satisfaction has nothing to do with economic profit. And that explains the devotion, vocation or frenzy according the case you face your reason to live in the world.

Luzhin followed his bliss without care about any other consideration. The countless obstacles he had to overcome worked out much more as a challenge than a real warning. He did not mind any other issue.

This crude and painful portrait is superbly by John Turturro in his best performance on screen to date. The astonishing actress Emily Watson as his devoted lover is splendid too and the rest of the cast is excellent. Art direction and photograph deserve a sonorous applause , the script is memorable and the lesson of life is a perpetual evidence of integrity and trust in oneself far beyond the risks you may find on the road.

This film to my mind still remains among the greatest in this decade.
